Title IX
At Lycoming College, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our students, creating an environment free from discrimination, and adhering to an equitable process for incidents of sexual misconduct and gender- and sex-based discrimination.
We recognize these issues are prevalent on many college campuses. At Lycoming, we are proactively addressing them through educating our campus and working toward a culture change.
What is Title IX?
Title IX is a federal law that is part of the Education Amendments of 1972 that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, which includes sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Title IX aims to protect all members of our campus who experience discrimination or sexual misconduct. This applies to students, faculty, staff, contractors, applicants, and visitors to campus.
Lycoming College's policies and procedures related to Title IX can be found in the Equal Opportunity, Harassment, and Nondiscrimination Policy.
