Internships

From accounting to zoology, opportunities for internships abound in our region and beyond!

With many of our internship partners located within walking distance from campus, Williamsport is an ideal location for internships. The city is the heart of economic, legal, cultural, and medical activity for the region, as well as the county seat for Lycoming County, with offices serving the largest geographic county in the state and over 100,000 residences.

The CEAE’s career advising team works with academic departments across the campus to support both semester-based internship courses — which students complete as part of their academic course load — and summer-based internship programs both near and afar. Signature summer programs include:

  • Williamsport Internship Summer Experience: A 10-week paid internship with on-campus housing and a professional development workshop series for students across all academic areas of interest.
  • Clean Water Institute: With more than 20 years of supporting the understanding and health of our waterways, the Lycoming College Clean Water Institute features annual summer field research internships.
  • Smithsonian Institution Partnership Program: Students of this tailored-to-fit partnership have interned with the Smithsonian’s Museum of Natural History, 3D Digitization Program Office, and Office of Equal Opportunity Employment and Minority Affairs.
  • Washington Semester Program: Lycoming partners with American University’s Washington Semester Program, featuring semester and summer internships in the nation’s capital.
