Prevention & Response
The opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a liberal arts and sciences institution holds the potential to change lives for many students. By creating a positive, safe, and inclusive campus culture, Lycoming College is empowering students to pursue an education.
According to RAIIN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, college-aged women 18-24 are at an elevated risk of sexual violence, and male college students ages 18-24 are 78 percent more likely than non-students of the same age group to be sexually assaulted. Additionally, college-aged victims of sexual violence often do not report to law enforcement.
Our campus works to prevent issues such as sexual misconduct, discrimination, and violence by providing year-round programming that helps to foster a living and learning environment that serves all students. In addition to educational workshops, tablings, and other scheduled events, individuals are on call and resources are available to students at all times while they are on campus, as well as when they are off-campus on college-related travel and even studying abroad.
