Schedule of Events for May 29-31, 2020

To assist young alumni in attending Alumni & Reunion Weekend, we are proud to offer GOLD (graduate of the last decade) pricing for select events, as well as on-campus housing, which is available for all alumni and their guests. Alumni & Reunion Weekend rates are also offered at several local hotels for a limited time.

The Lycoming College AAEB endeavors to promote the mission and vision of the College to be recognized nationally among the best liberal arts and sciences institutions. The 32-member board is comprised of alumni from across the decades, and works to support alumni and students, current and future, by developing relationships and opportunities for personal and professional growth, philanthropic spirit, passion for service, and excellence in developing the overall foundation of the College community.

Golf Outing - Williamsport Country Club, 800 Country Club Drive

Enjoy the Williamsport Country Club’s beautiful course with alumni and friends. Entry fee includes cart, green fees, and box lunch. The driving range and clubhouse are also open to guests. Collared shirt is required. Cargo shorts and denim are not permitted. Play your own ball. Register as a foursome or individual; we can pair you with others. Please note: this is not a tournament, but rather an opportunity to play a great course and kick-start your reunion weekend.

$110 per non-member, $80 per member

50th Reunion Cocktail Hour - Burchfield Lounge, Wertz Student Center

Members of the Class of 1970 and a guest are invited to connect over drinks prior to their 50th Reunion Dinner and Medallion Presentation. Dress is business casual.

Heritage Club Reunion Dinner - Shangraw Performance Hall, Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall

All alumni who graduated from Lycoming more than 50 years ago are invited to the Heritage Club dinner where we will recognize the 55th, 60th, and 65th reunion milestones for the Classes of 1965, 1960, and 1955. Dress is business casual and class photos will be taken at this event.

Menu: Spinach salad with mandarin oranges, red onion, and poppy seed dressing; London Broil with a shallot and mushroom sauce; cream cheese and chive mashed potatoes; broccolini; and a cream puff. Wine service with dinner. A vegetarian option is available upon request.

50th Reunion Dinner and Medallion Presentation - Jane Schultz Room, Wertz Student Center

Members of the Class of 1970 and a guest are invited to a special dinner honoring their Golden Anniversary. President Kent Trachte will present reunion medallions and certificates to the class. Dress is business casual and class photos will be taken at this event.

Menu: Spinach salad with mandarin oranges, red onion, and poppy seed dressing; a dual plate of London Broil with a shallot and mushroom sauce and crab cake; cream cheese and chive mashed potatoes; broccolini; and a cream puff. Wine service with dinner. A vegetarian option is available upon request.

All alumni and friends are encouraged to join us for a casual breakfast, after which the AAEB will present this year’s awards. President Kent Trachte will share a Lycoming College welcome, and we will reveal reunion awards in a variety of categories including loyalty, participation, unity, and GOLD (graduate of the last decade) unity.

Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Planetarium Shows - Detwiler Planetarium, Lynn Science Center

See the stars and learn more about the universe during a show in Lycoming’s state-of-the-art planetarium. Experience the facility that has expanded opportunities for all students on Lycoming’s campus, as well as the Williamsport and Lycoming County communities. Each show is approximately 45 minutes long.

Make plans to be at the signature Alumni & Reunion Weekend event! Enjoy dinner, drinks, and entertainment with alumni and friends from all eras.

Menu: Shrimp cocktail; chef-carved certified angus beef tenderloin with a horseradish sauce; mushroom and cheese ravioli with porcini sauce; asparagus; black and white brownies; and pineapple upside-down cake. Beer and wine will be served throughout the evening.

The time has come to say farewell to your room in the residence hall and turn in your room keys and lanyards. All guests must check out by 11 a.m.

  • Friday: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

On-Campus Housing is Available!

Live on campus for the weekend in a “single” or pair up with some of your friends to recreate the roommate experience. On-campus housing is available in the newly remodeled Crever Hall and The Douthat Commons. The cost is $80 per person, $70 per GOLD (graduate of the last decade).

On-campus housing is economical, fun, and functional, but it offers minimal amenities. Bed linens (fitted sheet, flat sheet, and pillowcase), a thermal blanket, bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth are provided. You must bring your pillow.

Lamps, nightlights, and clothes hangers are not furnished; if you need them, please bring them with you. Beds are extra-long twin size. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We would never room you with a stranger. Please note that checkout time is 11 a.m. on Sunday. All rooms must be vacated by this time, and keys must be returned to Burchfield Lounge before you leave campus.
