Giving Societies

Lycoming College is pleased to recognize the loyalty and generosity of our alumni, parents, and friends who financially support the College. Every donor who makes a gift to Lycoming - regardless of size or designation - helps the College achieve its strategic goals of academic excellence and preparing students for a lifetime of success. We are eternally grateful for your dedication and support.

The Loyal Giving Society recognizes Lycoming's most loyal alumni, parents, and friends who have made gifts to any fund of the College for three or more consecutive years. Their gifts make a collective impact that strengthens the institution year after year. Lycoming is pleased to recognize the loyalty of our donors through various recognition levels.

Lycoming College Gift Recognition Levels:

  • Faculty Circle — $1-$999
  • Dean's Circle — $1,000-$1,811
  • Provost's Circle — $1,812-$4,999
  • President's Circle — $5,000-$9,999
  • Trustee's Circle — $10,000-$24,999
  • Chairman's Circle — $25,000-$49,999
  • W. Gibbs McKenney Circle — $50,000 and up

The 1812 Leadership Giving Society pays special tribute to those donors who make gifts of $1,812 or more to any fund or funds during the fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Alumni, parents, and friends who join the 1812 Leadership Giving Society demonstrate their commitment to preserving a strong future for Lycoming students. Lycoming offers a number of recognition levels to honor our leadership donors.

Metzler Gate Society

The Metzler Gate Society provides a "gateway" to the 1812 Society by recognizing recent graduates who make annual gifts at specific levels starting with their senior year and continuing throughout their first 10 years as alumni.

  • Senior year: $100
  • Reunion years 1 - 3: $250
  • Reunion years 4 - 7: $500
  • Reunion years 8 - 10: $1,000

The 1812 Leadership Giving Society recognition levels:

  • Provost's Circle - $1,812-$4,999
  • President's Circle - $5,000-$9,999
  • Trustee's Circle - $10,000-$24,999
  • Chairman's Circle - $25,000-$49,999
  • W. Gibbs McKenney Circle - $50,000 and up

The Founders Society was established in 2016 to recognize extraordinary lifetime giving by alumni, parents, and friends. The Founders Society honors the legacy of Lycoming College's founder, Benjamin H. Crever. Members of the Founders Society represent Lycoming's most generous philanthropists whose commitments have influenced the trajectory of the College. Lycoming offers a number of recognition levels to honor our lifetime donors.

Lycoming College Gift Recognition Levels:

President Edward J. Gray Circle

The President Edward J. Gray Circle recognizes levels of lifetime giving of $100,000-$249,999, based on cumulative outright gifts to the College.

President John W. Long Circle

The President John W. Long Circle recognizes levels of lifetime giving of $250,000-$499,999, based on cumulative outright gifts to the College.

President D. Frederick Wertz Circle

The President D. Frederick Wertz Circle recognizes levels of lifetime giving of $500,000-$999,999, based on cumulative outright gifts to the College.

Benjamin H. Crever Circle

The Benjamin H. Crever Circle recognizes levels of lifetime giving of $1,000,000 or more, based on cumulative outright gifts to the College.

The Tower Society acknowledges the special commitment of donors who make contributions through gift planning. This includes a bequest, annuity, trust, life insurance policy, or other planned or deferred gifts to Lycoming College.
