Finance Concentration
The finance major at Lycoming College offers students a dynamic blend of analytical training and broad-based education, ideal for those interested in financial markets, investment strategies, and the decision-making processes. The program emphasizes both theoretical foundations and practical applications, preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
Students will build a foundational knowledge of finance by exploring the complexities of the stock market, financial markets, and financial decisions. Students complete a series of finance-focused courses such as Security Valuation, Financial Modeling, and Corporate Finance, along with others in investment theory, accounting and economics. These courses develop students’ ability to assess risk, interpret financial data, and make strategic decisions in a global context.
The liberal arts environment enhances this technical training with strong communication, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning skills. Internship opportunities, study abroad programs, and individualized academic advising provide hands-on experience and global perspectives.
