Comprehensive Track
Regardless of your specific interests in biology, the breadth of information and skills covered in the Comprehensive Track will allow you to pursue any biological field after graduation. Students who graduated from this track have entered medical schools, veterinary schools, and prestigious graduate programs at schools such as Harvard University and Cornell University. These students have gone on to graduate studies or taken jobs in areas as diverse as ecology or cell & molecular biology.
For the student who loves biology but is unsure of what career path to follow, exploring the different facets of biology represented in the Comprehensive Track may bring career objectives into focus. Perhaps the greatest benefit of the Comprehensive Track is your ability to easily change career goals, like Brenda McPhail, a young woman intent on a career in forensics who found herself completely intrigued with ecology. Because she followed the Comprehensive Track, she graduated in four years without having to reshape her major.
Students planning to obtain certification in Secondary Biology must successfully complete the Comprehensive Biology Track of the Biology major.
