Co-founder of One Financial Services Jack Morrone ’84 will be the featured lecturer for Lycoming College’s James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series. The event is slated for Monday, March 25, 7 p.m., in the Trogner Presentation Room, in the Krapf Gateway Center on the Lycoming College campus. The event is free and open to the public.

In his talk, “Adversity Introduces You to Yourself,” Morrone will reflect on the challenges he has faced in the 40 years since graduating from Lycoming. He will discuss his early career obstacles, the unique dynamics of caring for children with special needs, and the genesis and ongoing elements of establishing and owning one of the leading financial services firms in his community.

Morrone and his wife Leslie are parents to three children, two of whom have special needs and intellectual disabilities. While many would consider it challenging to raise two children with special needs, Morrone appreciates the unique gifts his children have helped him more fully develop, including patience, understanding, problem-solving, and prioritizing – qualities that are woven into both his personal life and professional life.

“Jack is coming back to campus to discuss how his years at Lycoming helped him start his own business and achieve success in the field of financial advising.”

For the past thirty-three years, Morrone’s life-experiences, combined with his professional and technical knowledge, have made him well-positioned to provide advice and counsel to people facing important life decisions, and Morrone received recognition for this when he was celebrated in the June 2017 edition of Men’s Health. “It’s important for our students, and for the Williamsport community, to see how a liberal arts and sciences degree can guide a student through a meaningful career,” said Elizabeth Moorhouse, Ph.D., associate professor of economics, chair of the department, and director of the Institute for Management Studies at Lycoming College. “Jack is coming back to campus to discuss how his years at Lycoming helped him start his own business and achieve success in the field of financial advising.”

After studying accounting at Lycoming College, Morrone embarked on a career in financial services. He was named to the “Forbes’ Best-In-State Wealth Advisors” list for both 2021 and 2022. He has earned multiple professional designations, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS®), and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He is also a member and serves on the Investment Committee of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is Series 7, 24, and 63 registered through LPL Financial and holds a Pennsylvania resident life, health, and disability insurance license.

Wanting to share his time and talents with others, Morrone volunteers with several non-profit organizations, and currently serves on the board of directors for LifePath Foundation, LifePath Corporation, and The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley.

The presentation is sponsored by Lycoming College’s Institute for Management Studies. The James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series is named for James W. Harding, a 1938 graduate of Lycoming College and an executive with Kemper Insurance. As the result of a grant from the James S. Kemper Foundation to endow the series, students have the opportunity to meet and network with some of America's top business executives from numerous internationally-recognized companies and firms.
