Director of Counseling Services

Misty Palmatier joined Lycoming College in October 2022 as the director of counseling services, where she provides individual, relationship, and group therapy. Misty also oversees the Lycoming College Warrior Wellness initiative, provides programming and training on mental health issues, provides QPR gatekeeper training, and advises the Lycoming College chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Prior to Lycoming College, she worked for Community Services Group as the clinical coordinator of school based outpatient therapy for seven years, and for Universal Community Behavioral Health as a mental health professional and as a clinical supervisor for their adolescent partial hospitalization program from 2011-2015. Before that, Misty was at Diakon Family Life Services as an outpatient therapist and family based therapist. She continues to work as an adjunct instructor at Pennsylvania College of Technology for the human services and restorative justice program, where she has taught for the past seven years.

Misty is currently a member of the American College Counseling Association. She served as the Northeast Regional Representative on the Pennsylvania Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Executive Board from 2010 to 2016, and was a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists from 2008-2016.

In her spare time, Misty enjoys listening to live music/concerts and spending time with her family.
