Lycoming College is opening its doors to prospective students this fall with a series of dynamic events designed to give high school students and their families an in-depth experience of academics, the arts, and Warrior spirit. More than just tours, these opportunities immerse guests in classrooms, studios, labs, and community traditions that set Lycoming apart.
The Friday Focus Open House on Friday, Oct. 3, coincides with Lycoming’s annual Homecoming Weekend, one of the busiest and most spirited weekends of the year. Prospective students will enjoy lunch on the upper quad, step into the classroom with interactive faculty sessions, and dive deeper into their intended majors during departmental breakouts that offer the chance to meet professors and tour facilities. The day ends with self-guided campus tours and an invite to stay for Lycoming’s campus street fair, complete with food trucks and community festivities.
On Sunday, Oct. 19, creative high school students can attend Lycoming’s Fall Fine Arts Festival, a hands-on afternoon of workshops in music, theatre, art, and film. From jam sessions and collaborative art projects to theatre showcases and behind-the-scenes film experiences, participants will work alongside faculty and current students in Lycoming’s state-of-the-art facilities.
The season of exploration continues with the Warrior Spirit Open House on Saturday, Nov. 8. Highlights include an academic fair, campus tours, and opportunities to meet Warrior athletes and students. That same day, prospective theatre students may also participate in Theatre Scholarship Day (11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.), featuring lunch, faculty interaction, and auditions/interviews for scholarships worth up to $3,000.
In addition to exploring Lycoming’s nationally ranked liberal arts experience, all high school seniors who visit campus this fall will be eligible for Lycoming’s $1,000 annually renewable visit grant—a $4,000 scholarship awarded over four years for those who are admitted and enroll.
“These events go far beyond the traditional open house,” said Jessica E. Snover ’17, director of admissions. “From taking part in faculty-led classroom experiences to collaborating in the arts or witnessing the energy of Warrior athletics, prospective students don’t just hear about Lycoming—they live it for a day.”
