Laptop Loan Policy
Lycoming College offers secure, self-service laptop loans through LapSafe Lockers to support academic needs. These laptops are available to students who present a valid Lycoming ID, and each loan is issued for a standard period of 24 hours. Late returns may lead to restricted access or loss of borrowing privileges.
Laptops are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. To borrow one, students must authenticate at the locker terminal using their Lycoming ID. Each student may borrow only one laptop at a time, which must be returned to the same locker within 24 hours. Upon return, the laptop should be powered off and plugged in. Any damage or issues should be reported during the return process.
Students are responsible for the laptop throughout the loan period. Devices should not be left unattended, and users must refrain from installing unauthorized software or tampering with the equipment. In the event of loss, theft, or damage, students must notify the IT Service Center at it.servicecenter@lycoming.edu. If a laptop is lost or damaged, the student may be charged the full replacement cost. Repeated violations of the policy may result in suspension of loan privileges.
Technical issues or locker-related concerns should also be reported to the IT Service Center. Locker access is monitored for security and audit purposes, and laptop usage is logged for inventory and security tracking. Personal data is handled in accordance with Lycoming College’s privacy policy.
