Anatomy and Physiology Track

Students interested in health professions will find the Anatomy and Physiology Track prepares them for entry into the professional career of their choice. Whether you are interested in medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, podiatry, or any health profession, students who have taken this course sequence have been prepared for the required professional school admissions exams and the challenging professional training that follows.

In addition to the courses this track provides, students interested in the health professions are strongly encouraged to have practical experience in their area of interest. Students have completed internships at the Susquehanna Health System, shadowed local physicians, worked with local pharmacists, volunteered at St. Anthony’s Center for the poor, done medical research, and/or volunteered at nursing homes. We have a rich tradition of student involvement in the local health care establishment.

Recent graduates have continued their education at various institutions, including the University of Colorado Medical College, University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Temple University College of Medicine, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, New England College of Optometry, Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania College of Dentistry, University of Pittsburgh College of Dentistry, and University of West Virginia College of Medicine to name a few.

The Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) helps guide students with their pre-health and pre-med preparation and students should review their plans with HPAC as they plan their coursework.
