Lycoming College today announced the appointment of Jennifer Mariacher to the position of vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer (CFO), where she will lead a broad portfolio that includes the College’s business operations, physical plant, human resources, risk, and auxiliary enterprises. Mariacher will report to the president and will serve on the president’s administrative cabinet. She will begin in her new role on July 1.

A seasoned financial executive, Mariacher brings more than 20 years of experience to Lycoming in financial management and analysis, strategic planning, budget preparation, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, student accounts and financial aid, facilities contracts and services, technology, system implementation, and training, along with staff supervision and development. She will partner with Lycoming leadership to build a long-term financial model and physical plant that continues to provide students and community members with a nationally recognized education in the liberal arts, sciences, and business.

“Jennifer is joining Lycoming at a very important time for both higher education and our academic community. Working with leaders who understand the challenges and opportunities facing higher education is essential,” said Chip Edmonds, president-elect of Lycoming College. “Jennifer’s extensive experience in finance, budgeting, and institutional operations demonstrates the depth of her financial acumen, commitment to innovation, and unwavering dedication to the academic enterprise. I, along with my colleagues, look forward to benefitting from her leadership and contributions as Lycoming’s next vice president for finance and administration.”

Mariacher most recently served as vice president for administration and finance at Central Penn College (CPC). Her time at CPC reflected increasing responsibility and expansion of her portfolio with prior roles as CFO and assistant vice president for finance. Previously, Mariacher served as director of financial operations and purchasing at Franklin and Marshall College after serving as director of budget and financial planning. She also held positions at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, and Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society in Hunt Valley, Md.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Lycoming College finance team during this exciting period of transformation under new leadership,” Mariacher said. “Building on the strong foundation laid by the previous administration, I see this role as an opportunity to lead strategic initiatives that support the College’s goals as it continues to deliver a top-tier liberal arts and sciences education to high-achieving students. I am eager to collaborate with the faculty and staff that I have already had the pleasure of meeting and am looking forward to strengthening those relationships and building new connections with those whom I have not yet met. I am deeply humbled to have been selected for this role and am honored to be joining Lyco as its new VPFA and CFO.”

Mariacher is active in her profession and has published multiple articles and delivered a number of presentations on financial and higher education themes. She gives back to her community through service with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts of America, the Moose Fraternity, and other nonprofit organizations.

Mariacher earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in business administration from Elizabethtown College. She resides in Middleburg along with her longtime partner Tim and their dog, Ripley, and cats, Lola and Hazel Mae.
