Steering Committee & Working Groups

The Office of Assessment at Lycoming College supports the documentation and use of assessment data to improve student learning, programs, services, and institutional effectiveness. Assessment is also a critical component of accreditation through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and helps ensure that the College continues to fulfill its mission and strategic goals.

Institutional effectiveness at Lycoming is an ongoing cycle of planning, assessing, analyzing, and improving the programs, processes, and services that support student success and institutional excellence. Through assessment, the College uses evidence to inform decision making, strengthen outcomes, and promote continuous improvement across campus.

The Assessment Committee plays a central role in these efforts by supporting a culture of meaningful, campus-wide assessment. Chaired by the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation, the committee includes faculty representatives, a library representative, the Director of the Writing Center, and a representative from Admissions. The committee reviews and supports assessment activities, promotes best practices, provides feedback on assessment processes, and encourages the use of evidence to improve student learning and institutional effectiveness.

Together, the Assessment Office and Assessment Committee help advance Lycoming College's commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision making.
