“This year’s capstone film, ‘Tapes,’ was a true department effort. Seniors collaborated on the film from script to screen and worked with just about all film majors on the production. They wisely utilized both color and black and white throughout the film to distinguish the different realities that Jonah is transported from and to when discovering his antagonist’s dark secret,” said Leah Bedrosian Peterson, professor of film and video arts and chair of the department at Lycoming College. “It was wonderful to witness the support that the students gave one another, the new skills they learned, and the enthusiastic commitment to filming together over eight weeks. The film is dark, smart, and gripping from start to finish.”

Producer Toby Lader said, “This film was an honor to work on and the experience of doing so will be more than influential on my future career.”

The film and video arts program at Lycoming College balances digital film production and postproduction with film theory as students study and create films that represent humanity, culture, and society.
