Lycoming College announced a partnership with the University of York in the United Kingdom that will create a direct path for Lycoming students to a variety of 12-month master’s degree programs in the areas of archaeology and environment and geography. Admission is guaranteed for Lycoming students who meet York’s admission requirements, which include either a bachelor’s of science or a bachelor’s of art in any field of study, and Lycoming graduates who are admitted will receive a £4,000 tuition discount.

Lycoming’s archaeology program is one of only a few offered at a liberal arts and sciences college. Its distinctive curriculum is designed to provide a breadth of experience both in and out of the classroom. The master’s programs at York enable Lycoming students to continue their education with deeper engagement in a specialized area of archaeology.

"We’re equipping students to tackle the world’s most urgent environmental and societal challenges with the skills and perspective to make a lasting impact."

Recipients of a master’s degree from the University of York will acquire advanced research skills for a competitive edge that can lead to careers with high impact, while others will use the experience to augment applications to doctoral programs.

Master’s programs offered through the partnership with the University of York span a wide variety of specializations in archaeology, including bioarchaeology, digital archaeology, and museum studies. Interdisciplinary program offerings in Environment and Geography, such as data science, sustainability studies, and environmental science and management, address pressing global challenges while equipping graduates for impactful careers. Visit the Lycoming College website for a full list of offerings.

“This partnership between the University of York and Lycoming College represents a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of global changemakers. By bridging an undergraduate liberal arts education with advanced graduate training, we’re equipping students to tackle the world’s most urgent environmental and societal challenges with the skills and perspective to make a lasting impact,” said Jessica Munson, Ph.D., associate professor of anthropology and archaeology at Lycoming College.
