Areas of Expertise: Brass Pedagogy, Brass Methods
Christopher Morgan is an accomplished music educator and performer with expertise in brass pedagogy and performance as well as conducting. He joins the faculty as an adjunct professor to teach brass methods, drawing upon his extensive experience as the MS/HS Band Director in the Montoursville Area School District, where he leads the Concert, Jazz, and Marching bands. He also teaches courses in general music and music theory.
An active professional musician, Morgan's performance experience directly informs his teaching, offering students practical insight into the world of professional musicianship and education. He has performed with prominent ensembles throughout central Pennsylvania, including the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, the Lycoming College Community Orchestra, the Penn Central Wind Band, the Williamsport City Jazz Orchestra, and the Billtown Brass as well as regularly playing in local High School musical pits throughout the area on both trumpet and horn.
Morgan holds a Master of Music in Wind Conducting from Messiah University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and PK-12 Education Certification from Lycoming College. He is a committed member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), currently serving as the District 8 Vice President, and holds professional affiliations with the National Band Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the International Trumpet Guild.
