Student Travel

Travel

Enhance your art degree with international travel to destinations such as Barcelona, Belize, Cambodia, China, Guatemala, Honduras, Vietnam, and even right here in the United States.

Lycoming College’s art program emphasizes travel as a way to augment traditional classroom learning and studio work. Faculty-led travel provides students with the ability to observe art in the context of the cultures that influenced it, and empowers them to draw inspiration from their experiences to make their own mark on the art world.

Through study abroad programs, May Term travel, and other class trips, students can visit museums and landmarks, examine architecture, experience the rawness and beauty of different corners of the earth, and practice art in the field – not to mention gain first-hand experiences with local food, as well as various customs and rituals unique to each land. Follow the route of the Maya through Central America, share a meal with a local family in their home, visit cathedrals and temples, travel by bullet train or rickshaw, or spend the night on a sailboat.

See what you discover about yourself and what inspires you, as you explore a new country.
