Homecoming & Family Weekend Schedule of Events

Please join the Alumni Association Executive Board (AAEB) in their support of the college’s Fall Food Drive during over Homecoming & Family Weekend 2018. There is a collection bin in Bell Lobby (by Cafe 1812 in the Academic Center) where alumni, family & friends can donate non-perishable food items to the Central PA Food Bank. Please help the Alumni Executive Board support a greater Lycoming College community food drive that includes support from alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends!  You can also use the virtual food bank to conveniently donate items online.

All are encouraged to sign-in, pick up your itinerary and Lycoming Athletics passes, and enjoy snacks with alumni and friends. You can also check-in for the Beer & Pretzel Tent at the registration table, allowing you to by-pass the line at the door.

Barbara Haller Endowed Lectureship in Biology and Chemistry - Heim Building, Room G-11

Join Ellen Klinger, Ph.D. ’00, Research Entomologist from the USDA-ARS Pollinating Insect Research Unit, as she presents “Protecting Our Pollinators- The Buzz Behind Bee Disease” at 4 p.m.  Following the lecture, make your way to dinner in the Jonas Room in the Wertz Student Center.

Some vendors only accept cash. An ATM is available on the second floor of the Wertz Student Center. College Place will be closed to all traffic to accommodate this festival.

Songs for a New World - Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall

This contemporary abstract musical (song cycle) weaves characters and history together, illuminating the timelessness of self-discovery. It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World. The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make.

Gamma Delta Sigma invites you to a basket raffle held to honor the memory of a lost sister, Brandy Lee Sudol '91, who died of Hodgkin’s disease. Funds raised will support a scholarship in Brandy’s honor.

Alumni and Student Choir Rehearsal - Clarke Chapel

Gather with fellow choir alumni to rehearse selections that a combined student and alumni choir will sing at the Sunday morning Chapel Service under the direction of Dr. Daniel Hall, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities. The group will also practice The National Anthem, in anticipation of singing before the start of the football game at 1 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

“OX” Roast Tailgate LunchShangraw Athletic Complex

Join alumni, friends and families for a tailgate lunch under the tent at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. Lycoming’s fraternity, Theta Chi (OX), enjoyed a long-standing tradition of slow-roasting beef overnight in a fire pit before serving it up on sandwiches at the Homecoming football games. We worked with Theta Chi alumni to recreate the “OX” Roast for Homecoming this year and can’t wait to see you there. This event is family friendly and features a bounce house for the kids!

$15 per person

Menu: Beef pit sandwiches with dipping sauces, chicken corn chowder, homemade chips, cookies, lemonade, and water. Beer will be available to those age 21 and over in a commemorative Homecoming cup.
We will not be able to offer substitutions on this menu for those with dietary restrictions. We apologize for the inconvenience.
