Lycoming uses a holistic application review process. We consider the rigor of your college‑preparatory high school coursework (typically four years of English; three years of math and social science; and at least two years of natural or physical science, a world language, and academic electives).

Beyond academics, we also consider your interests, involvement, essay, recommendations, career goals, and SAT or ACT scores if submitted, all in the context of your individual circumstances. No single grade, test score, or factor determines admission.

A college education is an important investment, and we’re committed to making it both affordable and a strong value. We offer a range of merit‑based scholarships, need‑based financial aid, and grants to help students finance their education. We encourage families to review Lycoming’s cost of attendance to better understand tuition and fees.

Completing the FAFSA allows us to build the most complete financial aid package possible, and many families are surprised by what they discover after filing. Even if you don’t expect to qualify for aid, submitting the FAFSA helps us provide a clear, personalized picture of affordability.

As a residential college, most students live on campus in a mix of suite-style halls, community-style residence halls, and campus-owned apartments (for upperclass students). Campus safety is a priority, with 24/7 Public Safety services and secure residence halls. From studying on the quad to late‑night breakfast—a favorite campus tradition—life outside the classroom is a big part of the Lycoming experience, and it’s designed to help you feel at home quickly.

Williamsport is a vibrant, walkable city that combines arts, culture, and outdoor adventure. Just minutes from campus, students can explore downtown restaurants, shops, galleries, and performance spaces, while the surrounding Susquehanna River Valley offers easy access to hiking, kayaking, cycling, and more. Located in central Pennsylvania, Williamsport and the surrounding area offer a close‑knit community feel with major cities like Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York, and Washington, D.C. within easy reach.
