Lycoming College invites the Williamsport community and surrounding areas to enjoy a free show in its Detwiler Planetarium on Friday, Dec. 5.
Step out of the hustle and bustle of the German Christmas Market and into the stars! “Weihnachten unter den Sternen (Christmas Under the Stars)” is a festive planetarium show that pairs perfectly with the on-campus Weihnachtsmarkt. Travel from the cozy glow of market lights to the winter constellations over Germany, explore deep-space treasures like the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades, and discover how Christmas trees, Advent candles, and the Moravian Star are all connected to the night sky.
This event is free and open to the public, with shows starting at 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. To secure your spot, reserve free tickets via BigTickets https://www.bigtickets.com/events/lycoming-college-astronomy-dept/ beginning Friday, November 28th. Doors will open 15 minutes before start of each show. Please note that there will be no admittance after the show begins. You can find us at the Lynn Science Center, located on the corner of Washington Boulevard and Mulberry Street.
