Lycoming College once again announced strong positioning in popular college rankings, including U.S. News, Money, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review. Multiple accolades pointing to return on investment are indicative of the high value of a Lycoming College education and degree, as well as the institution’s student experience, academic innovation, and teaching excellence.

U.S. News & World Report

In the 2026 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings — the foremost ranking resource used by prospective students and their parents — Lycoming rose in three key areas: The College jumped four spots to land at No. 96 in the National Liberal Arts Colleges ranking; rose one spot to No. 21 in the Best Value Schools list; and rose two spots to No. 5 for Top Performers on Social Mobility.

The U.S. News Best Value Schools list takes into account a school's academic quality and the net cost of attendance for full-time undergraduate students after need-based financial aid. According to U.S. News, “the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal.”

Lycoming has maintained a steady showing on U.S. News’ Social Mobility ranking since the list’s inception in 2020, which is a demonstration of the institution’s commitment to improving college access for high-performing, high-need students.

Money

Lycoming College earned a four-star rating on the annual Money Best Colleges in America list, which showcases the country’s top values based on graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid, and alumni salaries, among other factors. Money’s listing analyzes more than 700 four-year colleges focusing on affordability and student outcomes to help families make informed decisions about where to spend their tuition dollars.

Washington Monthly

Washington Monthly awarded Lycoming College an overall ranking of No. 122 in its 2025 Liberal Arts Colleges Ranking for its contribution to the public good. Washington Monthly also ranks schools based on how well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices in the 2025 Best Bang for the Buck Rankings – Northeast, in which Lycoming ranked No. 123. Of particular note is Lycoming’s No. 24 rank for access, which is based on the number of Pell Grant recipients and Pell enrollment performance.

Princeton Review

Signifying the College’s status as one of the nation’s best, Lycoming was included in the Princeton Review’s Best 391 Colleges, it’s ninth consecutive year of inclusion. Princeton Review additionally ranked Lycoming No. 13 for Most Politically Moderate Students. The College was also recognized on the Best Mid-Atlantic and Green Colleges lists.
