Lycoming College rallied its community to invest in bold new beginnings during its seventh annual Days of Giving held April 8-9, 2025. The 48-hour fundraising event resulted in 1,009 donors and $425,405 in gifts to support the people and programs that make its campus so distinctive.
This annual event acts as a catalyst for growth and opportunity, helping Lycoming empower its students, expand its academic offerings, and enhance its athletic programs – creating new opportunities for its students, faculty, and athletes.
The College recently established the New Academic Programs & Student Success Fund. The Education Innovation Challenge was presented for three hours on the second day of the fundraising event to garner support for this new fund. Donors even had the chance to win an exclusive private event with the incoming 16th president of the College, Chip Edmonds, Ed.D. ’98.
“The intent of the New Academic Programs & Student Success Fund is to enhance the College's academic curriculum and student success,” said Edmonds, currently executive vice president of Lycoming. “I am grateful to all who participated in Days of Giving this year, and I look forward to continuing to advance the mission of Lycoming College with a dedicated community of alumni and friends who care so deeply about making this place even better.”
“This is an exciting time for new beginnings at Lycoming College,” said Sandra Kingery, Ph.D., provost and dean of the faculty. “One of the College’s major initiatives is to expand our academic offerings with new interdisciplinary majors that will provide students with pathways to success in the areas they are most passionate. Supporting the New Academic Programs & Student Success Fund is one way that our donors can help us empower our students.”
Each athletic team had the chance to gain additional funds to improve the student-athlete experience by exceeding its fundraising records from Days of Giving 2024 (donors and dollars). Several alumni rallied their former teammates’ support by providing sponsorships to unlock additional prizes totaling in excess of $13,000. Gratitude is extended to all the families of current student athletes who made gifts.
Once again, the College encouraged alumni to step forward to establish their own matches and challenges to bolster participation from peers and garner additional support. Donors could support a variety of funds that best aligned with their interests, and challenges unlocked prizes for an even greater impact. This year’s matches and challenges ranged in support for academics, athletic teams, and Greek life to music and reunion class years. The College is also appreciative of the many social media advocates who helped generate online excitement on Lycoming’s behalf.
