Adjunct Faculty

Dr. John H. McNassor began teaching as an adjunct in the Religion Department of Lycoming College in the spring semester of 2010. His previous association with Lycoming was as the proud father of Lyco grad, Elizabeth McNassor Harris (class of 2002). McNassor was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, graduating with a BA from Rockmont College (Colorado Christian University) in 1977. He earned a M.Div. from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in 1986 and served as a pastor for sixteen years before beginning graduate studies at Drew University in 2002. He received a M. Phil. in 2006, and a Doctorate (Ph.D) in 2009. His dissertation was on the relationship of philosophy and theology in the work of Karl Barth and Jean-Luc Marion. He is employed full-time as a psychotherapist for Laurel Health System. McNassor is married to Laura, Unit Manger in Ostetrics at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, and they share the joy of three daughters, Rachel McNassor, Elizabeth McNassor Harris, and Christine McNassor, and one granddaughter, Juliet, daughter of Elizabeth and husband Andrew.

In addition to being an avid reader and continuous student, McNassor has a passion for Jazz (John Coltrane, Miles Davis), indie and alternative rock, culture and arts, and riding motorcycle.
