Associate Professor of German
Len Cagle earned the Ph.D. at Brown University. He also studied at the University of Arkansas (B.A., M.A.), the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the University of Central Arkansas, and the University of New Mexico’s Deutsche Sommerschule in Taos.
Professor Cagle's research and teaching interests include German Romanticism; the early 19th century author, composer and jurist E.T.A. Hoffmann; the uncanny in literature and film; and German cinema. He has accompanied Lycoming students to Germany on several May Term courses, and is always eager to promote Lycoming’s very active affiliate exchange in Bamberg, as well as FU-Best, Lycoming’s unofficial partner in Berlin.
