Lycoming College secures additional $500,000 grant from Stabler Foundation

The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation has awarded a $500,000 grant to Lycoming College in recognition of its exceptional work to attract students of promise and for its commitment to meeting their financial needs. Through generous gifts such as this grant, Lycoming is able to bolster its financial aid offerings and fine-tune admittance practices, more selectively choosing talented students who best fit with the mission of the College, regardless of their financial need.

The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to enable dozens of high-promising students to earn a 21st-century liberal arts and sciences education in preparation for lives of meaning and careers of distinction. This is the foundation's eighth consecutive grant to Lycoming College, bringing its total giving to the College to $4.97 million since 2011.

"Our ability to continue to offer these impactful Stabler scholarships at Lycoming College has helped us attract even more dynamic students to our campus," said Chip Edmonds, executive vice president. "Lycoming is honored and remains deeply grateful for the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation's generosity."

Established in 1966, the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation awards grants for charitable, religious, scientific, literary, and educational purposes to private educational and other institutions located in central or eastern Pennsylvania.
