Warriors Drop First Conference
Match to DeSales
Williamsport, Pa. –
Warrior women’s tennis opened its home season against DeSales
University on Sunday with the hopes of turning around its rough
beginning to the 2005 campaign. DeSales didn’t buy into the same
proposition as Lycoming fell 8-1 to fall to 0-3 on the season, 0-1
in the Freedom Conference.
Senior Josie
Castillo (Maracaibo, Venezuela/Muncy) continues her recent
success at number one singles. She claimed her second
individual match
victory of the year with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 triumph over Laura LeVan.
At number five
singles, junior Amery Lim (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) was
only one service break off pace in both sets against Colleen
Solomon, but couldn't quite break through for victory.
Lycoming is next in
action on Tuesday, September 13, against Wilkes University. The
match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. in Williamsport.
