WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team
hosted FDU-Florham, Saturday afternoon, for their season finale.
The Warriors finished the season on a high note, defeating the
Devils 14-10. Lycoming completes the 2005 campaign with a record
of 5-8 overall and 3-7 within the MAC. FDU falls to 6-10 and
3-7.
The Warriors
scored the first three goals of the game to open up an early
lead on the Devils and held a 5-3 advantage at halftime. FDU
scored first in the second half to pull within one, but Lycoming
scored three goals of their own in just 55 seconds to regain
control of the match.
The Warriors
were led by Megan Wallenhorst (Fr./Rochester, N.Y.;
Irondequoit) who scored seven goals and recorded one assist.
Erica Likens (Sr./Bel Air, Md.; Bel Air) added six goals,
and Heather Suit (Fr./Annapolis, Md.; Broadneck) claimed
one goal. Cassie Mocyk (So./Baldwinsville, N.Y.; Charles W.
Baker) assisted on two goals. Kristina Peacock
(Fr./Webster, N.Y.; Webster-Thomas) made 12 saves in net for
Lycoming.
The Devils
were led by Abby Hildebrand with four goals and two assists.
Caroline Garguilo also scored four goals. Jenn Kessler made
eight saves in goal for FDU. |
