LYCOMING’S EVANGELIST NAMED TO ALL-CONFERENCE LACROSSE TEAM

 WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Lycoming College senior Lauren Evangelist (Perkiomen Valley, PA; Boyertown) has been named to the 2004 All-Middle Atlantic Conference first-team for women’s lacrosse.

Evangelist was the Warrior’s top two-way player in 2004, leading the team in goals with 72, assists with 6, points with 78, draw controls with 71, and caused turnovers with 42. She also was second on the team with 71 ground balls. In addition, Evangelist broke Lycoming’s single-season scoring record with her 72 goals – surpassing 69 scored by Brenda MacPhail during the 2000 season.

Evangelist averaged 4.8 goals per game during the season, ranking first in the MAC and ninth in the entire nation. She also ranked among the top ten players in the nation for ground balls and draw controls per game. This is the fourth consecutive season that Evangelist has been an all-conference selection.
