WARRIOR WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATS WILKES

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team hosted Wilkes University, Thursday afternoon, for a Middle Atlantic Conference contest. The Warriors used a 10-4 second half to pull away from the Colonels for a 15-10 victory. Lycoming improves to 5-9 overall and 2-7 in the conference. Wilkes falls to 1-12 and 0-10.

Lauren Evangelist (Sr./Perkiomenville, Pa.; Boyertown) led the Warriors with eight goals and an assist in the final home appearance of her career. It was the second time this season that she has equaled Lycoming’s single-game scoring record. Ashley Rowe (Jr./Fairfax, Va.; W. T. Woodson), Cassie Mocyk (Fr./Baldwinsville, N.Y.; Charles W. Baker), and Erin Dillon (Fr./Bayside, N.Y.; Saint Francis Prep) each added two goals in the game. Erin Robinson (So./West Hartford, Conn.; Kingswood-Oxford) accounted for the Warriors’ other goal.

Laurie Rooney (Sr./Audubon, N.J.; Audubon) made 11 saves in goal for Lycoming.

The Warriors will play their final game of the season on Saturday, April 24, when they travel to FDU-Florham for another conference tilt.
