WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team
hosted Messiah College, Wednesday afternoon, for a Middle
Atlantic Conference contest. The Warriors played even with the
Falcons for a quarter, but the visiting team went on 6-0 run and
never looked back, winning 18-3. Lycoming falls to 7-5 overall
and 6-3 within the conference. Messiah improves to 8-3 and 6-1.
Sang Duong
(Jr./Havertown, Pa.; Haverford)
led the Warriors with two goals and an assist. Chris McQuade
(Jr./Lower Gwynedd, Pa.; Wissahickon) scored Lycoming’s
other goal.
Christian
Willaum (Sr./New Milford, Conn.; New Milford)
started in goal for the Warriors and made nine saves in the
first half. Sean Powers (Sr./Drexel Hill, Pa.; Monsignor
Bonner) was in the cage for the second half, also making
nine saves.
Kevin
Dennstaedt, Reed Horanburg, and Dan Videon each scored four
goals to pace the Falcons. Chris Gilbert and Jason Kirwan split
time in goal for Messiah, combining for five saves.
Lycoming
will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday,
May 1, at Drew University.
