The Sociology/Anthropology major was
designed with two different types of students in mind: the student who
wants to study the "pure" theoretical aspects of sociology and
anthropology in preparation for graduate-level work, and the student who
wishes to pursue the application of sociology and anthropology to the
Human Services field following graduation. In addition to in-class
learning, there are numerous opportunities to intern in local agencies
such as The Providence House (a home for teenage mothers), the Lycoming
County Housing Authority, and the Williamsport School District.
