Lycoming College is pleased to announce a new direct admissions initiative for Lycoming County that will allow qualifying students to receive a guaranteed offer of admission through a streamlined application process.

High school seniors from any Lycoming County high school who have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher will be invited to become a member of the Class of 2028—the 212th class to attend Lycoming College.

“We love our Lycoming County students. We have a strong history of attracting great minds from our own backyard, and with this commitment, we hope to not only grow our enrollment, but also give local students a clear pathway to their future,” said Richard “Chip” Hinton, associate vice president for enrollment management.

With acceptance comes automatic consideration for all of the College’s academic scholarships, ranging in value from $25,000 to $36,000 per year based on the individual assessment of metrics such as GPA, class rank, and SAT/ACT scores (if available).

"I encourage students and families to check out our net price calculator and attend one of our upcoming Instant Decision Days to understand the return on investment that a Lycoming education provides"

“Lycoming has always provided exceptional value to talented students from across the country, but in particular to students from Lycoming County. This initiative, as much as anything, amplifies Lycoming’s value proposition and creates additional transparency around the college admissions process. I encourage students and families to check out our net price calculator and attend one of our upcoming Instant Decision Days to understand the return on investment that a Lycoming education provides,” said Chip Edmonds, Ed.D. ’98 executive vice president. “And importantly, not only are students investing in their education—Lycoming is continuously investing in students through ongoing facility enhancements, new and innovative programs, experiential learning, career and graduate school placement, and faculty mentors committed to exceptional student success. 99% of the class of 2022 is currently employed or in graduate school.”

Lycoming will host several Instant Decision Days on campus for every high school in Lycoming County, during which students will receive their admissions offer. For more information on these events and the streamlined application process, students should contact their respective high school counselor. For additional questions about this initiative, families may contact Chip Hinton by emailing admissions@lycoming.edu or calling 570-321-4026.
