Marketing and Communications

Lycoming College’s Department of Marketing and Communication is an internal, full-service unit that strategically plans and executes programs and tasks related to communication, marketing and promotion. The department works to tell the story of the College and helps Lycoming’s departments and programs identify their own reputation-defining distinctions within the Lycoming College community. The office consults with campus offices and departments on media relations, strategic communication strategies and Web communications to promote faculty, staff, students, programs and events to external audiences and the news media.

We focus on four primary areas:
  • Reputation building
  • Admission support
  • Development and alumni support
  • Athletic Communications

We also plan communication and marketing strategies, assist with web communication, produce printed materials. We collaborate with campus partners to produce, or provide guidance on, the creation of all types of communication.

We are directly responsible for:
  • Media inquiries and news releases
  • Crisis communication
  • Lycoming College’s marketing campaign, which includes media buys and advertising placement
  • Website assistance
  • The Lycoming Magazine
  • Admission publications
  • Lycoming College’s official social media accounts
  • Event promotion
  • Athletics news, marketing and promotion (including live video streaming of athletic events)
  • Stat-keeping at athletic events and the archiving of athletics records
