If you're interested in international careers such as business or international relations or if you're thinking about teaching or traveling the world, a French major is for you. Consider this:
In addition to enhancing your conversational and writing skills, you will live French and Francophone cultures. Your professors, French films, literature, and even pop culture will be your guide.
Outside of the classroom you and your class mates will enjoy French cuisine, dances, parties and trips with Club Franco! Don't forget to schedule at least one semester at our affiliate program, Centre Universitaire d'Etudes Francaises de Grenoble.
Grenoble is located in the heart of the French Alps and is a cultural and economic capital of southwestern France. The University has 50,000 students in a town of 500,000 inhabitants. Close to Switzerland, Italy and the Mediterranean, Grenoble's outstanding location in the Alps provides the opportunity to take part in a large variety of excursions. Mountain sports (hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and rock climbing) are most popular and are possible all year round. The closest ski resorts are 30 kilometers away from downtown. The cultural life of Grenoble is rich and varied: numerous cinemas, theatres, concert halls, art galleries, cafes, and museums (including a renowned contemporary art museum). The town also organizes every year special events such as the International Festival for European Theatre, the Short Films Outdoor Festival, the Jazz Festival, and other activities. Grenoble is a terrific university town with plenty to offer international students.
