Lycoming College to host Music Gala on April 16

The Lycoming College music department will present a “Music Gala” showcasing all of  the college’s large ensembles on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. The event, which is being held in honor of the recent inauguration of President Kent Trachte, is free and open to the public.

Chamber Choir to perform concert of American music and poetry

The Lycoming College Chamber Choir will perform a concert of American music and poetry Monday, March 31, at 8 p.m. in Clarke Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Tour Choir's first trip with new director underway

The Lycoming College Tour Choir’s first tour under the direction of Christopher Jackson, D.M.A., director of choral activities and assistant professor of music, will begin Friday, Feb. 28 at the Charlton United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. in Harrisburg, Pa. During the trip, the choir will visit at least one area high school each day. According to Jackson, this type of educational outreach is central to the choir’s goal of creating a greater sense of community among all levels of music education.

Candlelight Service to be broadcast

Lycoming College's annual Candlelight Service will be broadcast Dec. 24 and 25 on several local radio stations. The traditional service of lessons and carols was performed by the college's choirs and instrumental ensembles on Dec. 8 in Clarke Chapel. The broadcast dates and times are as follows:

New choir director to perform Concert at Noon

Lycoming College’s new choir director and assistant professor of music, Chris Jackson, will perform a Concert at Noon on Thursday, Oct. 31, in Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall. He will be accompanied by Amanda Gunderson, visiting assistant professor of music, on piano, and Fiona Gillespie, adjunct music professor, who will sing. The event is free and open to the public.
