The Production Program

Creating theatre is what we do. Our production program provides dozens of opportunities every semester for actors, directors, designers, technicians and stage managers to create theatre with our accomplished faculty.

We produce a mainstage and a black-box season of faculty- and student-directed productions each year, including classics, musicals and cutting-edge new dramas. In addition, a traveling children's theatre show is produced each spring. That's 7-10 shows every season.

We have two laboratories, the Mary L. Welch Theatre and the Dragon's Lair Theatre, where students and faculty work together, often with professional guest artists.

The foundation of your theatre major is practical training, and students receive academic credit for participating in mainstage productions. Your senior project is a four-credit course in which you work one-on-one with your professor and choose your own creative project to culminate your learning at Lycoming.
