Starting with the scientific revolution in the mid 16th century, soar through nearly five centuries of astronomical discoveries during two shows in the Detwiler Planetarium at Lycoming College on Feb. 3 as part of Williamsport First Friday events.

The show provides a tour of the size of the observable universe and our place within it. Beginning with a brief overview of findings from the time of Galileo and Kepler, viewers will travel through time by learning about major discoveries, including retrograde motion and exoplanets, up to current times.

The shows will be held at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. The events are open to the public. Free tickets are available that evening starting at 5 p.m. outside the planetarium. Seating is first come, first seated.

The planetarium is located in the Lynn Science Center on the corner of Washington Blvd. and Mulberry St.
