College Catalogs

These catalogs, under various names, represent course offerings throughout the history of Lycoming College and its predecessor institutions. Many of the earlier catalogs provide additional information such as "testimonials" from patrons and friends, lists of alumni, and lists of current students. Some of the issues were originally desk copies of College officers and thus include handwritten notes in the margins. Photographs enhance the archival value of these publications with the first photographs appearing in the 1892-93 catalog.

Annual catalogue of Williamsport Dickinson Seminary for the academic year

The catalogs for the years 1848 through 1901-02 were scanned from microfilm copies of the original paper catalogs. In order to get good resolution of photos during the microfilming process some pages were photographed multiple times, thus you may find duplicate pages throughout the digital versions for those years.

Bulletin Williamsport Dickinson Seminary and Junior College

Beginning in 1916 the catalog was a designated issue of each volume of the Bulletin. It was not until the 1939-40 edition that "and Junior College" was added to the title page of the catalog, even though it was added to the cover starting in1928.

Beginning with v.14, no.1, the Bulletin included a "Register" of students for the academic year of publication and the "Announcements of Courses" for the following academic year. For example, v.14, no.1 includes the Register for 1930-31 and the Announcements of Classes for 1931-32.

Apparently there was no catalog published bearing a 1929-30 designation, but both v.13, no.1 and 14, no.1 carry the designation of 1930-31.
