Transfer Admission

Become a Warrior

We'll make sure you have a smooth transition to the warrior way of life

Transfer Promise

You're not alone.

Approximately 1 in 10 of our incoming students each year are transfer students.

  • We know the transfer process can be stressful. That's why we give you the personal attention you need to ensure a smooth transitioning process.
  • Whether you are transferring from a two-year community college or a four-year institution, Lycoming is an excellent choice for taking your education to the next level.
  • Once you become a Warrior, you will join a network of almost 15,000 alumni! These connections can help create a foundation to launch your career.

We know credits are important.

That's why we don't restrict ourselves to a list of courses that transfer.

Each case is different, so we review credits on an individual basis. To get the most transfer credits, send us a transcript and course descriptions so we can easily see how it compares to the courses we offer and make a fast decision.

We do have a few guidelines:
  • Transfer up to 80 credits
    • 64 max credits in 100 and 200-level courses and 32 max credits in 300 and 400-level courses
    • No more than 16 credits can be online courses.
  • Must have a C- or higher in the course(s)
    • Pass/fail courses don't count.

Transfer Credit Policy

All accepted transfer students are eligible for a Lycoming Transfer Scholarship, up to $24,000.

We know you've been through the college application process.

You know how the process works, here's what we'll need from you:

  1. The Lycoming Transfer Application (we'll waive the fee) or the Common Application
  2. Official transcript(s) from each post-secondary school attended
  3. If you have less than 24 credits, also send your high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores
  4. Transferring Student Admission Report (TSAR)
  5. Personal essay (250 words minimum) detailing your reason for applying as a transfer student to Lycoming College.  Send in your completed essay here.

If you plan to apply for financial aid, you'll need to add us (003293) to your completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you haven't completed one recently, you can get a refresher from our financial aid page.
