Interfraternity Council

Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing council for the 4 men’s fraternities at Lycoming College. IFC coordinates recruitment, risk management events and programming for the entire fraternity community. Each fraternity has a voting delegate on the Interfraternity Council.

IFC is affiliated with the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). The NIC serves the needs of its member fraternities through advocacy, collaboration, and education. Through the enrichment of the fraternity experience; advancement and growth of the fraternity community; and enhancement of the educational mission of the host institutions the NIC works to ensure that fraternities can operate in an environment conducive to their success. The NIC is also committed to enhancing the benefits of fraternity membership. Today, the NIC has 72 member organizations with approximately 5,500 chapters located on 800+ campuses in the United States and Canada with approximately 350,000 undergraduate members. You can find out more about NIC by visiting
