Loft Registration

You DO have to register your loft with the Residential Life Office if:

  • You have a loft that was purchased used, is home-made or custom-built.

You DO NOT have to register your loft with Residential Life Office if:

  • You purchased it new as a kit from a store or on-line.

If you are having someone construct a loft for you, it must meet the Student Loft Constructed Guidelines and be registered for inspection by Residential Life & Buildings and Grounds Staff. Click here to read the Student Constructed Loft Guidelines.

I hereby acknowledge that I have read the "Student Constructed Loft Guidelines" and understand the terms and obligations as published on the Residential Life website, www.lycoming.edu/residentiallife/. I agree to be bound by the provisions of the same.

Contact Information

Loft Inspections will occur during the first weeks of classes. You will be notified by e-mail when the inspections will take place; you do not need to be present for the inspection. After the inspection, you will be informed if your loft requires adjustments. However, the College will not tag or provide notification to residents that lofts have been approved as the College does not make any guarantees about the safety of individual lofts.
