High School: Westfield High School

Most Influential Professor: I connected with Dr. Aseltine through class. When I had questions about assignments, she always made herself available to give me some answers. She’s also a great resource for internships and volunteer opportunities.

Favorite Part of Class: I really like that it’s not all lecture. We have classes for really specific parts of Criminal Justice, plus we always have great guest speakers since our faculty members are so connected. There are also a lot of opportunities for hands on experience – whether it’s through volunteering or interning.

Getting Involved: If you’re considering joining a team or an organization – go for it. All of the upperclassmen on the swim team were very welcoming when I got here – it gave me an instant group of friends. I was able to go to them for advice on classes second semester. They were also my link to Lambda Chi Alpha – which gives me the opportunity to participate in community events.

Advice: Take a broad range of classes – from general education classes to niche classes. If you have questions, go to your professors – they are always eager to help.
