Special Interest: Her special areas of interest include teacher preparation, intervention and support for students with emotional and behavioral disorders and students at-risk, multi-tiered systems of support, and inclusion practices for students with disabilities.
Dr. Dexter teaches Introduction to Special Education, Assessment and Curriculum for Students with Disabilities, Special Education Programs and Services, Teaching the Young Child, and Reading for Special Populations.
She is a member of Council for Exceptional Children, including Division of Research, Division of Learning Disabilities, Teacher Education Division. She also is a member of the Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders and an advisor for Lyco Buddies, which is a partnership program between students and individuals with disabilities in the community that provide friendly and caring social opportunities for people with disabilities.
