Public accountant at ParenteBeard

As a public accountant at a top 20 accounting firm, my success comes from the high-quality education that I received at Lycoming College. Although earning an accounting degree is no easy task, it can be very rewarding – most accounting students have jobs lined up prior to graduating. I was offered a job after spending the spring semester of my senior year interning full time at ParenteBeard.

I work in the auditing department and interact with clients in industries ranging from health care to manufacturing to nonprofit organizations and school districts. I recently was honored by my company for my community service.  I received the award for the mission trip I took to Haiti to work at the Hands and Feet Orphanage. As an employee, I can’t think of anything more valuable than to know that ParenteBeard supports my passion for missions.

Current students should take advantage of the internship and networking opportunities provided by Lycoming. The business department and faculty help create opportunities for business students to gain experience across many different industries.

The time management skills I’ve learned while studying at Lycoming are the No. 1 thing that has carried over into my career at ParenteBeard. In the workforce, you will be required to manage and balance multiple projects at a time, so it’s extremely important to get involved in various activities and learn that skill set as soon as possible.
