The Lycoming County Counselors Association and Lycoming College are extending an invitation to local high school students to attend “College Night” on Thursday, Sep. 19, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Keiper Recreation Center on the College’s campus. For more than a decade, the annual event, organized and hosted by the Lycoming County Counselors Association (LCCA), has given high school students the chance to interact and network with representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities at one time, in one place. The event is free and open to the public.

Representatives from schools in Pennsylvania and a few surrounding states, as well as branches of the military, will be available to discuss the program offerings, internships, scholarships, and research opportunities offered by their institutions.

“The LCCA College Fair is a great way for high school students (even those in 9th and 10th grade) to gain an exposure to the many post-secondary options available,” says Emily Wagner, LCCA treasurer. “Families who attend can speak with representatives of those schools, gather informational handouts, and talk with them about financial aid. We hope that through this event, students and their families can walk away knowing the next steps to take in life beyond high school.”

“It is a pleasure for me to work with students, families, and educators in the Lycoming County schools. There are so many bright and talented students in this area! What is wonderful about this event is that there are so many colleges and universities who share the College’s commitment to serving this area and having these students on our campuses. It is an event for students and families at all different stages of the college search process,” says Jessica A. Quintana Hess, director of admissions at Lycoming College.
