Renovations Completed in the Academic Center and Biochemistry Suite

As students returned to campus last month and passed through the main entrance to the Academic Center, they were immediately greeted by the newly redesigned Bell Lobby, complete with new furniture, lighting, an ADA accessible restroom, and a ramp allowing access to the D wing where faculty offices are located. New water fountains allow for easily filling reusable water bottles, too.

The transformation didn’t stop there, however. As the students ascended to the second and third floors of the Academic Building, they were amazed to see completely renovated hallways which showcase new bench seating, bright lighting, beautifully painted walls (no more green tiles!) and a peek through windows into the enhanced classrooms. During these first few weeks into the fall semester, the students have been enjoying the new lounge areas located at each end of the hallways, as well as the eight additional study rooms and two computer labs.

The Heim Science Building also underwent renovations during the summer months. Faculty and students were excited to return to the new biochemistry suite, including a teaching laboratory, faculty research laboratory, and office space all to support the College’s biochemistry major.
