Kate Hummel, director of residential life and conference services, graduated in June from the Leadership Lycoming Class of 2016 offered by the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce.
Hummel was one of more than a dozen graduates of the leadership-training program designed to help participants understand the needs of the communities it serves, then educate and motivate potential leaders to commit themselves to address those needs through a variety of community leadership roles.
As part of the program, Hummel teamed up with four classmates to help build awareness about the non-profit Favors Forward, an organization committed to providing a network of volunteers uniting their time, talent, and treasures to assist children and adults in Lycoming County facing life-changing hardships. More information about this non-profit is at http://favorsforward.weebly.com/.
Hummel has been the Director of Residential Life and Conferences at Lycoming since June 2012. She has worked in residence education and housing for the last 18 years. Prior to Lycoming College, Hummel worked and lived in Maryland and Virginia working at Garrett College, Frostburg State University, and Longwood University. Hummel earned both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Lynchburg College in Virginia.
