Lycoming College will be offering two shows in the Detwiler Planetarium on May 6 at 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. as part of Williamsport’s First Friday events. The event is open to the public. Free tickets are available that evening starting at 5 p.m. outside the planetarium. Seating is first come, first served.
This month’s show, “Stories in the Stars,” will be about the stories behind the groups of stars that form common constellations in the night sky including the story of Orion the hunter, the big and little bears also known as the big and little dippers, and the story behind the constellations Cassiopeia, Andromeda and Perseus: the vain queen, her daughter and the future husband who saved her from certain death.
The planetarium is located in the Lynn Science Center on the corner of Washington Blvd. and Mulberry St.
