Lycoming College to host Eaken Trio as part of Close-Up Concert Series

Lycoming College will host the Eaken Trio as a part of the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra Close-Up Concert series on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. in the Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall located on the corner of Fourth and Basin Streets. The program features Tchaikovsky’s celebrated “Trio in A minor,” an impassioned and virtuosic work that demands the utmost of all three musicians. Pianist Gary Boerckel, former professor of music at Lycoming College, will join the trio for the performance.

The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra provides quality music, education and performance opportunities for regional talent to an ever-expanding audience. Their programs include five regular season concerts, as well as concerts by WSO Billtown Brass and Williamsport Symphony Youth Orchestra. The orchestra also offers the Close-Up concert series, Pops In The Park outdoor concerts, family concerts, an annual Young Artist competition and a new Williamsport Symphony Junior Strings.
